Reviewers

A reviewer looks after the quality of the manuscript. This particular person verifies or reviews the manuscript and sends it back to the corresponding Editor with comments for further decision.

  • A reviewer is responsible for commenting on the manuscript assigned. Since it is one of the most important part of the review process, the comment has to be valid and reasonable. The reviewer has to back up the comment with logic.
  • The reviewer is expected to maintain utmost secrecy. They should not share the assigned manuscript with anyone else by their own.
  • Each individual will have their own views or perceptions. Therefore, a reviewer is expected to read the assigned manuscript thoroughly and comment according to the topic.
  • While communicating the report to the Editor, a reviewer must remember to write a short and crisp report.
  • It is very important for a reviewer to ensure that the article is matching the demanding high standard of the journal.
  • The reviewer needs to send a detailed report to the Editor.
  • Since we end up having huge number of manuscripts, the reviewer is expected to meet the deadline to check and review each manuscript.

Conflicts related to reviewers – If you have any association with the assigned author, you should be declaring it to the board of management of SeriesScience immediately. While taking up the review assignment of the author, you need to ensure that you will act in impartial manner and will not let any past association come into the process.

If you have any queries related to the roles and responsibilities of reviewers, you can send an email. We will revert within one working day.
